Jacques Potgieter becomes Associate

It is with great excitement that we hereby announce that Jacques Potgieter was promoted to an Associate within the ASL Group with effect from July 2019.

Jacques successfully completed his articles at ASL in 2016. He then acted as an Assistant Audit Manager after which he was promoted to Manager – Client Relations. In the latter role, Jacques was Pieter Aucamp’s right hand and played a crucial role in building and maintaining client relationships and ensuring that service delivery is at the highest possible standard and maintained. In this capacity, Jacques has already distinguished himself as a person who has high regard for client relationships and service and subscribes to ASL’s values.

The impact that Jacques made in this role was, among other things, the motivation behind his promotion. Jacques’s role from now on will be particularly focused on ASL Trust’s core services as well as related services within the ASL Group and to ensure the continuity of existing relationships. We wish Jacques the best of luck in his new role and believe that this will be an important cornerstone in the building of ASL and our esteemed client relationships.

ASL Advisory’s entrepreneurial team are privileged in having Frances Burger as Legal Consultant amidst their ranks since middle June. Frances obtained her BCom Law (2011) and LLB (2013) from the University of Stellenbosch (US). She was admitted as Attorney and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Taxation, also at US.

After completing her articles and registration as Attorney, Frances worked as Tax and Legal Manager in the financial services sector for nearly three years. We look forward to what Frances will achieve in her new position at ASL Advisory.

Louise Lackay joined the financial division as Creditor’s Clerk in May and is already making a valuable contribution in this division. She has a daughter who is currently studying at the University of Stellenbosch.

Abeedah Timoor joined the ASL Tax Department in June. Abeedah, who previously worked in the corporate sector, was appointed as Tax Compliance Officer focusing on client service in statutory administration. She is proud of her involvement in various community projects by supporting social responsibility initiatives in her free time.

We regret having to announce that Cornel Roux, Corporate Governance Officer in the company secretarial division, is leaving ASL’s service. Cornel, mother of two lovely children, has accepted a position that can provide more flexibility in managing her schedule. We wish Cornel success for the future. Any enquiries can be made directly with Arné Bester (arne@asl.co.za) from this division.

Larochelle Sephton, ASL Group’s Digital Accounting manager, has accepted a position in Amsterdam where she intends continuing her career. Our best wishes accompany her. Contact the relevant relationship director for any enquiries.
